Glimpse and VisiConsult, a leader in X-ray inspection technology, have partnered to bring the VCB2 to market - billed as the world's highest-throughput CT scanner and the first built specifically for the cylindrical cell industry. The system produces full-cell scans at 20 µm resolution in seconds, and is the first commercially available full-cell CT scanner to use Excillum's MetalJet, the world's brightest X-ray source.
Paired with Glimpse's scan image processing, the VCB2 supports all cylindrical form factors and can generate a high-resolution scan of a full battery cell every few seconds. To turn that firehose of raw data—terabytes per minute—into actionable quality insights, Glimpse has made the Glimpse Portal compatible with the system. A VCB2 unit will be installed at Glimpse's Boston headquarters in Q2 2025 to demonstrate the partnership's capabilities.
