Intercalation Station, a widely read newsletter covering the battery industry, sat down with Glimpse co-founder and CTO Peter Attia for a Q&A on why the industry needs CT image scanning — and why Glimpse believes its platform is what will make that scanning practical.

Peter walks through the three problems the sector is really trying to solve: catastrophic safety events, packs made unreliable by a single defective cell, and the difficulty of ramping a factory. CT earns its place, he explains, because it is non-destructive and resolves features at 10–100 µm, fine enough to see the defects that actually matter. The remaining problem is speed, which is where Glimpse's hardware-plus-software approach comes in — scan times down from hours to two minutes at the time of the interview, with tens of seconds in sight.
He also talks about how Glimpse measures its own success: customer savings from fewer field failures, faster factory ramps, and quicker qualification of new cell designs.
