Glimpse CEO and co-founder Eric Moch joined host Jennifer Callahan on Skeleton Crew – The Rad Tech Show, a podcast for the X-ray and radiologic technology community. It made for an unusual conversation: an audience that knows CT intimately, just not CT of batteries.
Eric starts from first principles — cells versus packs, cylindrical versus pouch versus prismatic — and the scale of the problem, with a single factory turning out anywhere from 200,000 to several million cells a day. From there the discussion moves to latent defects: the cracks, tears, bumps, pinholes, and wrinkles that pass electrochemical testing and only surface as a failure thousands of miles later. He also covers the two ways customers work with Glimpse, shipping cells in for on-demand analysis or running Glimpse's software on their own scanners for real-time monitoring on the factory floor, and where the technology goes next as scan times keep falling and new chemistries like sodium-ion arrive.
