Glimpse co-founder and CTO Peter Attia presented at the NASA Aerospace Battery Workshop in Huntsville, Alabama, with a talk titled “Battery Quality Control via High-Throughput CT Scanning.” The annual workshop, hosted by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and sponsored by the NASA Engineering and Safety Center, gathers scientists and engineers from across the U.S. government, aerospace contractors, and battery manufacturers to share research on state-of-the-art aerospace battery technology, flight and ground test data, and on-orbit problem resolution.
It was a fitting stage for Glimpse: NASA is among the company's customers, alongside cell producers and EV makers. Peter's presentation laid out how high-throughput CT scanning can catch a wide range of cell defects that electrochemical testing misses - a capability that matters as much for a spacecraft battery, where reliability is non-negotiable, as it does on the gigafactory floor.
